Bad Review

Postby Guest » Tue Jul 19, 2005 9:04 pm

Okay so last night I typed goonies "20th anniversary/truffle shuffle" into google. I'm scrolling through and see "actually goonies do say die" so I went to the sight. For some reason this guy said I was a "disturbed 10 year old Chunk impersonator"!!!!! and that the documentary was LAME!!!!
Check out this pitiful excuse for a review at
www.seattlest.com/archives/2005/ 06/08/actually_we_often_say_die_part_2.php - 38k

You may have to copy paste it.

Hey Max, Glad to see ya around again pal! The link you posted didnt quite work but I found the article still none the less. I will repost it here

http://www.seattlest.com/archives/2005/ ... part_2.php

Also, I made a rather long winded reply to the article not only defending the event but also defending the fact that you are not disturbed. lol

They didnt put it on the site though as a reply to it yet, I dunno if it will show up later or not as it really was quite long LOL> Thanks for the post. THose folks are morons in this humble Goonies fans book!

Max, do not take it to heart, sweetie. I doubt they meant what they said, though it was out of order to do so in the way that they did. We ALL know you rocked and I was so happy to see you join in the spirit of things and Jeff thought you were amazing too (the real CHUNK)

If they think that then they also think that Jeff Cohen is disturbed hence no real love of the movie OR that of the Chunk character.

Jeff - good on you for writing to them, I may do the same actually. I think they have nothing better to do than to sit around and poke fun at anything cherished and loved by thousands. They made a mockery of journalism and reporting and aren't qualified to cover any type of event.

Matt Silvie clearly wouldn't know a good thing unless it smacked him across the head. chunkicon He thought the documentary was lame too - well, this goes to show he is in fact an idiot. He clearly went to the event with the intention to not only ridicule it but to look for all possible flaws which were so insignificant. Someone didn't do their homework - he didn't even know who Curt was till later. Hardly a real fan.

Bog off back to Seattle, Seattlest. Crap article and a miserable git.

Am I biased? - yes. Do I care - NO.

Ugh, I just read about the idiot who posted that article, Matt Silvie. He's from my stomping grounds... Pinellas County, FL. Not that I have any love for Florida, but I can honestly say, "We're glad you're gone, Matt."

Actually, his article was a very good article... FOR ME TO POOP ON!

Wow, what a blowhard. Seems like that guy had the event pegged wrong way before it ever went down. Congrats to the birds that dropped on his car though! It is too bad that people have to take something that is special to others and make a mockery of it. Max - dont sweat it my man. Andy - F that dude, he has no clue. Goonie328 - please pass the article, er...toilet paper!

Hi,
I tried to register as Chunk Jr.,right after the event. (before I got the nick name chunk 2.0) But I got an email saying my mom needed to fill out this form and mail or fax it. But it didn't have and address or phone # on it, so I've been posting as a guest. I'm always watching the board chunkicon

I am guessing you are below 13?

I know that there are federal rules... but they can't stop you from lying about your age. Because if you said you where over 13, your nick would be registered and active no prob!

But, you did not read this, and I did not type this... capice?

yeah dont worry about it buddy, you rocked the truffle shuffle!!!! that article was just written by someone who seemed to be unhappy to go to astoria in the first place... he obviously didnt do any research to discover all the events that were going on - 3 hours for the signature line.... yes, on one ocassion, but many other times during the weekend there were opportunities to speak to the actors without a line up... as for the film quality ... what do they expect? the film is 20 years old... they are probably just upset as there were no "cool" cgi graphics......

LOL I checked back on the article, and the only comment is one from Max that says "F you" and a link to this thread!
The above comment is an example to Ron of how I bring nothing to the table

Yay Max! You were absolutely wonderful at the event, and everybody there had a GREAT time, so I think this so called "journalist" was probably a friend of Troy's. Everyone at the event thought you were SUPER, so don't even bother with what this guy said. I don't even think it's a legitimate news review site.
