STOP PRESS - Goonies retrospective DVD review

Postby shaz » Tue Sep 21, 2004 2:06 pm

Armed with a video camera and a pocket full of hopes and dreams Ron Fugelseth and Patrick Radcliff head out to the alluring birthplace of The Goonies, to bring us a documentary of legendary proportions.
Without wanting to reveal too much I can tell you that this fantastically insightful short film brings us never before seen images and exclusive interviews with people who were 'there' *cough, cough* - Richard Donner.

During the antagonizing long wait for download to complete on my 56K, I was as jumpy as One-Eyed Willy must have been while he was waiting with his treasure.

I couldn't believe my eyes when the movie started playing. This film leaves no stone unturned and provides an answer to the question burning on the lips of every Goonies fan!

Sweet! So I assume it's going to be released soon.
I'd really like to either download it or buy it.

Downloading it would be the best option for me ;)

That sounds great! I'm glad to see that the Goonies is still alive and well 20 years later! Since I also have 56k I hope a DVD is soon on it's way, since I don't have the patience like Shaz to wait for a download.
It all starts here.

Is there a LINK for the rest of us to download it from, Shaz? Or did Ron and Pat just send it to you?

If I'm not mistaken, the documentary page said it wouldn't be available until the anniversary next year... :-\

Hey Jeff,

The movie was about 10 mins long or just over. There is the possibility of a few minutes of trailer for the website at a later date.

Shaz,

You got to give us some spoilers! Such as, is Richard Donner really Ron and Pat's father? Are Ron and Pat twins? Can Sloth really pull the arms off droids? Damn, I got those friggin' DVDs that were released yesterday stuck in my head!!
Ooops, sorry Shaz. Forgot you didn't see Star Wars yet.

There are alot of topics discussed in the movie. I won't spoil it for any of you but I can tell you that you'll get to hear about the location, Ecola State Park, the production, certain scenes from the movie and much more...

I haven't been on here in a while... once school started i was just too busy... I just found this a minute ago and I am so excited!!! More excited than I was before i read this thread. I saw that many people are begging Shaz to give us hints and things about the documentary, but I don't want any spoilers. If I already know something about anything, it's no longer fun anymore. Please Shaz, no spoilers!!!

I'm a Goonie, dagnabit!
