Christmas is only a few months away!

Postby Inferno » Mon Aug 17, 2009 7:53 am

Okayyy I know, I'm jumping the gun a little here but as strange as this sounds I think (despite me being pretty lax the last few months posting very sporadically here) this is pretty much my favourite place to spend Christmas and look forward to sending off my Secret Santa pressie (despite last year me being somewhat financially bound. "OH HEY, GOOD IDEA, MATT!!! SPEND ALL YOUR DOSH ON THE PRESENTS AND THEN WAIT TWO WEEKS FOR YOUR PAYCHECK SO YOU CAN THEN AFFORD THE POSTAGE AND END UP MISSING SANTA'S AND RULDOPH'S BIRTHDAY ON THE 25TH"). Man, the way you U.S and European folk talk about the snow I can almost feel the flakes on the end of my nose (and don't some smarta**e retort, "Oh that white stuff ain't flakes, Matt" cause you know what...I'M HAVE A GENTILE MOMENT HERE, ALRIGHT!!

This year I don't give a sam's smell in hell and am starting my yuletide celebrations extra, extra early. Tonight I had a turkey sandwich which sort of counts but the other day I ebayed me one of these little beauties...

Image

So waking up tommorow morning early to watch it!

Okay ladies and gentlemens, who's as giddily overzealous (and early) about the Christmas spirit here on the Goon-boards??

Heck yes!! I challenge everyone tommorow to try to do something even a tiny bit Christmasy and report back here =)

This sort of reminds me of a news story I saw a couple of years back about this bloke who celebrates Christmas every day of the year just cause he loves it so much. Decorations in his house, a Christmas dinner EVERY night after work. I'd love to be able to find a You Tube video of it but wouldn't what to start searching for

I dunno if I could do Christmas every night of the week but I reckon mix it up with Wednesday's Easter, every Tuesday each week it someone new from the households birthday etc etc

Anywho do something Christmas and report...

Right now I'm off to buy the Revenge Of The Nerds box set for 15 bucks as an early Christmas present for myself

I found the Home Alone box set (already have it mind-you!) and the Die Hard quad-set for under a tenner.

My aim is to get all my pressies bought before December gets here so that I can spend December from the 1st - well and truely getting my Nog ON!!!

The only thing that is glumming me for the first time ever is I lost my truely beloved Grandad one week before Christmas last year so this will be the first without him. I can't believe it's nearing a year already.

On a brighter note, I'm going to get my grubby little mitts on as many Christmas movies as possible ... OH and I wore my Uggs today. Roll on winter clothing !!

xxx

P.S. I REALLY would love a BAD Christmas jumper to wear this year. You know big knit with a pom pom on the front for Rudolphs nose or something.

I need to get a pair of Uggs. Really.

Shaz-It will be different for you this year. I'm sure you all will make it a joyful occassion by sharing memories and laughing in joy of the great times you had with your Grandad. Bittersweet for sure. And that's a great idea to get the shopping done before December! I should do the same! Usually I wind up doing most of it the week before Christmas!

Hahaha I just back to some of my post in this thread and from the grammer (not the one who knits in a rocking chair) it looks as though I'm typing off my face with my elbows

I too would love to "GIT MA' HALLOWEEN AWWWN" but this is hardly the thread for it kids! I may just dress as an elf Will Ferrell style this year for Halloween and perpetuate my ravenous yuletide attitude even further. Funnily enough I have an Edward Scissorhands costume hanging in my wardrobe I've never worn but it just doesn't feel like the right time to reveal it yet. Elf just seems right

KIDS!!...It's imperative you acquire 'Santa Claus: The Movie' to watch with Dudley Moore this Christmas (You could even invite him around your house! He's very small and wouldn't eat much...stock up on the Scotch though)

SAME HERE!
Theres a woman in work from America that had a different one for every day last year, I begged and begged for one but she wouldn't give one to me.

I reckon I could rock that sh*t.

YES!! I aim to find one definitely in time for December.

Can't believe a collegue wouldn't let you have one. Did you offer to pay her? Where's her so-called Christmas spirit eh?? Scrooge!!

My Mum is very good at knitting - Hmmmm i may ask her if she could make me one. Failing that - Ebay I suppose.
